Tuesday, January 23, 2007 on the philippine collegian, stupidity
the philippine collegian to be honest with everyone, i know im not the right person to talk about the things going around in school (university of the philippines-diliman). however, i feel that there is something really wrong going around especially with how the members of the phil collegian attack their problem. it has been quite sometime when we see the staffers of the official student publication of the school rant and rally around campus at the same time a halt in the publication of the school paper. they say that freedom of the press is supressed and what not. i dont blame them for having this reaction to certain policies made by the administration, but the thing is, they never explored the idea of a compromise. they say that what the administration really wanted was something really simple. a more efficient way of choosing the publisher. however, the staffers feel that this is a form of 'supression.' yeah right?! its more of a symbolic violence to me. either way, why wont they just compromise if serving the interest of the students is what they are really after? i know, its crazy. hope i didnt offend anyone. these are merely opinions of a neurotic individual. on stupidity i was watching news on tv yesterday and i was shocked by one of the reports. the families of the victims of the ultra tradgedy were demanding abs cbn/ 71 dreams foundation to help them. that is either stupidity or shamelessness (wrong spelling right?!) the fact these people are demanding a foundation to help them is stupid. foundations were created out of the altruistic tendencies of individuals and as such, should never be demanded of help. these people should even be thankful that someone is helping them. they are so ingrateful. i hope someone explains to them that you cant sue a foundation just because they didnt help you. ughhhh! they are just so irritating. talk about poverty and desperate actions.

Monday, January 08, 2007 hello there
oh, hi to ZHP (from mexico), the guy from croatia (sorry, forgot your name), and my friends in the philippines. yesterday (sunday), my friend jenny and i went to this mall and we got completely insane. we had to rush things since jenny had to catch the dorm curfew. it was just so crazy. imagine eating at taco bell so fast that we could hardly taste what we were eating? (kidding, but it was really quick). uhmm, pretty hard right? so anyways, here i am, back to my usual school routine. theres an upcoming debate tournament and i dont even know if id qualify to tryout because i havent finished the debate quota yet. too bad. the philippine economy is improving though despite regular fluctuations in the dollar exchange rate. i felt kinda bad when saddam hussein was hanged to death. were not close but i felt bad. that probably means i really have a 'good heart' (har har har har). tata.
